Publishing your paper as an AIB

  1. Starting with 2001, all AIBs will usually be published electronically. If necessary, every author can produce copies of his electronic paper.
  2. Write your paper following the AIB style guidelines (Example PostScript-file). For LaTeX users, we provide the class aib which simplifies the production of AIBs. You will also need Springer's llncs.cls. An example for using aib.cls can be found here. The class aib.cls automatically produces a titlepage. It furthermore requires the following graphics (either in EPS or PDF format, either B/W or colored): rwth.eps, aachen.eps, rwth_blue.eps, aachen_blue.eps, rwth.pdf, aachen.pdf, rwth_blue.pdf, aachen_blue.pdf.
  3. Include the list of available reports. There are two options:
  4. Consult your supervisor for checking the final version of your report.
  5. Consult me to obtain your AIB number.
  6. Include the AIB number in your document to obtain your final PostScript file.
  7. Write an BibTeX-entry for your technical report. An example can be found here. Please include keywords.
  8. Send your PostScript file, the abstract and your BibTeX-file to me.
  9. If possible, please send a PDF version as well. For best results, use PostScript fonts instead of generating bitmap fonts. You should set type1_default=true in texmf/dvips/config/updmap and/or have the following options in your ~/.dvipsrc:
    p +psfonts.cmz
    p +psfonts.amz

If your report is conforming to the style guidelines, it will now be integrated into these web pages. Furthermore, the report will be announced via the AIB mailing list and in the newsgroup comp.doc.techreports.
